The interesting and detailed biographies of Thanh Tuyen and the two songwriters, Tu Nhi and Tuan Le are much appreciated. Sad that Tuan Le passed away at a young age of 36. Nice that you included all their photos in the video. Thank you for sharing the beautiful upload, Chris. Heather Thee Owl Queen - Owl documentaries August 29, 2020 Reply What a hauntingly beautiful voice ♥ Lately I have been listening to music with no lyrics or music in languages that I don't understand as I find it more beautiful than my own language. Thank you for this beautiful song and video, I am happy to subscribe and big thumbs up ♥ I hope you visit my channel & have a lovely weekend. zzenzero August 29, 2020 Reply Tuấn Lê, real name Le Van Tuan, was born on July 9, 1952. He was the eldest son of famous musician Hoai Linh. He wrote many songs before 1975, and some afterwards. They are still sung by many singers. In 1968, aged 16, Tuấn Lê joined the Air Force of the Republic of Vietnam and went to study as an aircraft pilot in Colorado (USA) After 1975, he worked for a pharmaceutical company in Saigon. He married in 1978, and had 2 children. He died on April 15, 1988 due to lung disease. His ashes are now in the Mango Garden Church. zzenzero August 29, 2020 Reply Chế linh was born on April 3, 1942 at Paley Hamu Tanran, near Phan Rang. In August 1959, he came to Saigon to work for a Chinese man who helped him continue his schooling, & paid him well for housework help, cooking and taking care of the children. After 9 months, Chế linh went to Bodhi school and then to Nguyen Cong Tru school. Then he joined the Biet Chinh Bien Hoa musical group after winning the Best Nam Ca award. Two years later, the group disbanded, and he became a truck driver in Bien Hoa. He practised singing & writing music with friend Bang Giang. In 1964, Chế linh released his first album. He married 4 times, and had 7 sons & 7 daughters, including actress Le Thi. In 1972, he was banned from singing by the South Vietnamese Authorities. Circa 1978, he was arrested by the new Vietnamese Authorities. In 1980, he escaped to Malaysia, then settled in Toronto, Canada. In 2007, for the first time, he followed a UNESCO cultural delegation to revisit and perform in Vietnam. In 2011, he held a 30-year reunion show in Hanoi. In the following years, he returned to Vietnam many times to travel and perform. Chế linh and Thanh Tuyền are considered the best duet in Vietnam, highly appreciated by experts.
